So two or three years ago, I bought a used Epic 6500 off Ebay from a reputable vacuum shop out of Maine. I think it was called Five star vacs. My machine still works great. A friend of mine needed a vacuum and she ordered one similar from him and has had it maybe 2 years. She liked it but she just called me and she's having a problem. It won't stay on! You turn it on and it immediately turns off. The bag chamber door does not pop open but here's a pic she sent me showing the display lights...At first she thought it was letting her know she needed to change the bag, but she put a new bag in and it's changed nothing. I heard her trying to turn it on on the phone and it turns on then immediately goes back off. Any ideas?

Epic 6500

The valve assy under the round blue knob has a rubber O ring coming loose and leaking air.Small problem on an otherwise great vac.To replace remove side strips and bumpers, turn upside down, remove bottom, etc. etc. (but only if you are good with jigsaw puzzles!).

I had one of these apart... they really are easy. I thought there was some trick to the sliding trim, but there's not. It just slides out. You may need some kind of grippy tool to pull with, but they'll just come off.

There *could* also be a power switch problem.

Yea, what the others said

Also check that the hose isn't clogged.
