I often like to check out the newer models coming out on the market in other countries but I was shocked when I noticed a new Bissell upright on Amazon.com as well as a new bagless upright vac by Black & Decker.

We already have these in the UK; the Bissell is sold under the "Russell Hobbs" branding as well as several catalogue brands whilst the "Black & Decker" is also sold under the "Russell Hobbs," brand and the "Goblin" brand as well as "Argos Value" and others.

Interesting, I was wondering when that argos value upright would migrate over here.I wonder if it is any good. From my experience very cheap vacuums like that are either surprisingly good, or an utter disaster.
That bissell has been on the market over here for a few years now. One major difference between it and the Russell Hobbs version is the bissell lacks a pleated filter. The only filter on the bissell is a small, roughly 2 cm thick foam pad in a pull out drawer under the bin. From what I have seen, the drawer and filter itself leak loads of dust. A pleated filter may well be better in this instance.
