Okay, so I'm stalking ebay tonight (like every night!) and this listing immediately caught my attention. From the photo I could see, my first thought was "oh boy! A NIB Silverado!" Imagine my surprise (and disappointment) when I pulled the listing up...... So I'm curious, would this be a vac shop frankenlux, a metropolitan rebuild, or an electrolux rebuild (which I am seriously doubting), or has the seller lost his/her mind?? At least they didn't go hog wild on pricing!!!

I would guess a metropolitan rebuild.

Defiantly not Metro. I have one of the Elux rebuilds by them and thats NOT their work. Looks like the Electrolux re-build of the 1205

It's a 1205 that's been repainted, maybe rebuilt.
If it was rebuilt it was NOT by Electrolux.
Any vacuum that Electrolux rebuilt will have a metal tag riveted to the side of the vacuum.

Last night when I posted this, the starting bid was $0.99.....NOW its $29.99......I'm beginning to have my doubts about the honesty of this seller!!!

lux (never used)

If that is a rebuild; it was a very poor job.And the cheap attachments say it all. That had to be rebuilt by the seller.I'd stay clear away from that.

I've seen Metropolitan rebuilds with cheap plastic attachments like those pictured. So my thinking is not totally out in left field.

1205 rebuilt(by who ??)

Some Elux factory rebuilts had a sticker inside the front door but probably also had the plate on side.Even the factory rebuilts had different levels of paint quality, etc depending on location and time of rebuild. But all Elux factory rebuilts then had new Elux hose and atts added. These attachments would have been available to Metropolitan as well as vac stores. Many Metropolitan rebuilts have sticker on bottom.
The seller may be giving an honest description of an item he is not familiar with and recalling no use by his late mother.More pictures(bottom, other side, inside, etc)would be nice.
This would be a nice vac for the average person who also had a better vac for thick carpet.Just compare the price,4 ply bag, hose and complete(even if generic) attachments with dept store vacs(even if famous & expensive).

Ended, no bids.

Now it says the auction was "ended by the seller because the item was missing or broken". Probably sold it locally on Craigslist.

But yeah, it's definitely a repainted 1205. The jade control panel and handle configuration give it away. And what a craptastic set of accessories.
