Have just uploaded a video of the last UK incarnation of our Hoover Senior / Ranger series of upright vacs, this one is special as it is rare and has the Dustcup which collects the dust and debris after it has been filtered by the thick canvas style bagcover.
The model is 4302 and was produced in 1984. |

Although interesting to have one of these cleaners, the "bagless" cleaner is really just a development of the old shake out bag, and scarcely more hygienic.
But this cleaner and its conventionally bagged (and cheaper!) equivalent are remarkable rare - I would say over the years I have seen more Co-Op or Electricity Board exclusive Ranger style cleaners on ebay than I have these very late Seniors or Powerplus as they were then known. Some day I will haul out all my seniors, from the 160 upwards, to see how they compare with each other, over the 50 odd years they were in production, were the later versions actually any better than the earlier ones? BTW It was a Tristar used to clean out the fluff and dirt left behind after shaking out the bag. Al |
