Latest project is my Olympia One to replace the Super J I gave to my son.

This one was a test to see what a color change would look like.

I was not going for showroom quality, just seeing what worked and what didn't.

I used Krylon Fusion for the plastic, and a light dose of retr0bright on the yellowed plastic.

The wheel brackets were broken on this one.

They are made of pot metal and should have been made of steel.

They snap if you try to bend them.

I was advised by an Electrolux service repair place to just throw out the canister.

They did manage to find some that they pulled from several scrap ones, but the price was to high.

So, I fabbed up some brackets, and modified some caster wheels.

I may use a silver paint pen later to emphasize the lettering on the door.

I think it looks much nicer than chocolate brown.

Notice all parts inside the door are blue now :)

Nice paint job

I like the color and great job on the wheels. Did the blue wheels influence the choice of paint color? They do go nicely together. Are you painting any of the accessories to match? The flippy floor tool could be interesting but I'd be inclined just to media blast the shell of the power nozzle--assuming you have a PN2 or PN4 to go with it--and leave it shiny. Scratches show up much less on bare metal than on painted surfaces.

Right now I have very little for this vac, unless I borrow from the other two I own, (A Super J & a LE)

I have a PN6 & a PN6A for those.

At one time, I had the correct power nozzle for the Olympia One, but I have no idea where it went (25 years ago)

This was a recent acquisition, and what is pictured is all I received.

I had another color picked out, but the choice came down to the Fusion colors.

Very similar to a Grand Marquise paint scheme.

I have steel chrome tubes and that flippy thing. No hose yet.

new electrical cord & touchup

Amazing what a difference a new cord makes.

I recommend the ACE 31462 for vacs with a cord reel.

The cord is flexible, it is the exact length (20 ft), and the right gauge. (18 gauge / 10 amp)

(I also prefer the gray color)

I put heat shrink tubing on the cord for some strain relief and on the ends where I crimped the terminals on

(quick disconnect female - 18-22 gauge , size is .187)

It comes with a polarized plug, but I just connected the cord exactly like the old one.

good to go for another 20+ years
