Hi guys
Rescued this from the scrap cage of a local charity shop.... It was seriously blocked and the bag had burst. Also it had failed a PAT test....

Nice Find

None of our local charity shops will take in or sell electrical items, what did it fail the PAT test on ?. Did you find out. It can fail for lots of things, Like having a plug with non insulated pins or Nicks in the power lead. Even badly contaminated appliances or power leads can class as a fail.

Love love LOVE it! A good clean and that will come up nicely. You could easily use that as a daily driver, or flog on ebay and make a nice profit.

I'm on the hunt at the moment for an older X1 to accompany my 2 X1.1's.

Lucky. I saw one in BHF for £60 once.

Even £60 for a Sebo isn't half bad.

It was in pretty bad condition. Filthy (to be expected) and a sh*t ton of scratches everywhere. Oh well, too late now!

It possibly failed because whoever tested it didn't look into the bag chamber and see a ripped bag, thus clogging the filter and activating the off function that the SEBO X will do automatically to avoid over heating.

Some charity stores in Scotland have second hand appliances for sale and will PAT test at the shop there and then. SEBO’s Xs are incredibly easy to work on as that is what they were designed for. The cables are replaceable as well as of course everything under the hood. £60 is a fantastic bargain - second hand ones in charity shops in Scotland sell for about £100!

The X1.1's forte is that whilst the scratches may not be hidden, they won't be accented that much due to the white colour.

Personally Emma, if you are into uprights with manual height adjusters, you might be disappointed with the SEBO X series with its auto sensor. If I were you I'd start saving for the SEBO Felix.

I've never used a vacuum with auto height adjustment. But thank you for the advice.

The auto height adjustments divides opinion. Some love it, some hate it.

Personally, whilst it's not a feature I'd specifically look for, I do really love the auto height adjustments on the X series. I've always found it works very well. The only downside I've found is that when changing between floor types, you have to remember to wait a few seconds for it to adjust.

I'm not going to bash until I've tried it.

Again sorry to hijack the thread.

You're no hijacking the thread as far as I can see. The X is good if you can find one at £60. But you said in an earlier post that you would like a Felix.

I would love to get a Felix but if I could find an X series fairly cheap then I would get one just to try out and have my opinion on it.

I did like my old x1, strong, good airflow, fairly indestructible, but never got on with the auto height, mainly because I didnt have the right carpet to take advantage of.

I took it and a senior 652 to a village hall after we had evas 2nd birthday there and the sebo picked nothing up from the almost lino like carpet, the 652 gobbled everything up and more judging by the state of the bag after (new bag)

I love my Felix. It's so well built. Very sturdy and very powerful.
