Hi everyone! I am Cindy, (sneakyblonde), and I am new here.
I wasn't sure where to enter this thing. But if I am in the wrong place - Someone will be sure to tell me where to go.
My neighbor just hauled in a "whole house" vacuum! He wants to sell it, but I have no idea of a price range to tell him. (I list things on Craig's list for neighbors that don't have computers - Most of them.) It appears he may be missing some of the accessories. I also need to know what to check on it, for him. I have seen these, but never had my grubby fingers on one, so I am not sure where to start.(This one would suck up the cat! *See my profile.)
I want to make sure it is in good, working condition for him before he sells it.
We live in very old, tiny apartments. If we turn it on it in here - The lights will at least dim, if not BLOW circuits!
And it will suck up the old "wall to wall" like a scatter rug!! At least I have a FIRE EXTINGUIHER, just in case...
If I tried to "Dumpster Rescue" this one - It would have dragged me in!
Can anyone tell me what it originally cost, what it came with and the approximate age and value of this BEAST? And maybe the original Owner's manual info.?
Tomorrow I can try for some pictures to share. I was so shocked and awed by it - my brain went blank! IT IS HUGE! We did write down some of the important stuff - 1250 watts, 11.8 amps and it is marked "HONEyWELL".
That is a start for now. Tomorrow, I WILL LAY EYES ON THE beast AGAIN. I will look more closely at it's HUGE, UGLINESS, inventory what we have - and maybe don't have and take a picture or two... (Wow! Do I know how to hold and audience spellbound or what?!)
NOTE: I could probably research it on my own, but I ran across all of you here - and it sounds like a fun group.
Back at ya, soon!
Cindy

I have attached the sales brochure that includes your machine and shows the attachments and inlets used. Yours sounds like a re-branded machine but the number is the same. The L at the end of the number indicates it is set up for automatic inlets. I don't think that the machine would bring much more than $50 since it probably has been in use for close to 50 years and would require installation and a set of attachments to use. Good luck. I have also included a picture of my Filtex unit. I have all the original tools restored. These were the top of the line machines.
