Yesterday and I was at a local tire shop getting an alignment on my truck. And wouldn't you know it, there was a high end vacuum shop next door. Being a major Tacony fan, I was pleased that they carried simplicity machines. I tried the new symetry s20 up and couldn't believe how powerful it is. The suction at the hose was as powerful as any canister I've used. I believe the salesman said it has over a 100" of water lift. Well, that got me thinking. With that much power, is there really any need for tandem motor machines.

I totally understand the concept, and the need on the older riccar models. My rad 10's suction at the hose is pretty lousy when it's extended. The symmetry I looked at was a clean air only model. I think Tom said in an earlier thread that they were close to 100" of w.l.
Don't misunderstand me here, I love my radiance, but if you get a chance to try one of the new clean air models out you'll see what I'm saying. They'll clean just as good as the tandems. |

Hey Devin:
Tacony actually makes the machine you describe. I use one in the Museum to clean the vestibule rugs sometimes. It's a clean air motor design with a separate 'power nozzle motor' to turn the brush roller. We make it for the Tenent line. It's awesome. Of course, it's a commercial machine with a 50 foot cord, but the design is the same as the household cleaners. |

Just saw this vide on Youtube, WOW I'm impressed by what tacony has done to improve their top of the line models which is the synergy and radiance. I think there is nothing else that will out clean these machines today.
