Hi guys.

I recently acquired this vac and was in a sorry state. I have replaced the agitator brushes, new belt, new filters and new dust duct. I had a spare dust duct in the loft and as the old one had perished badly, it came it handy.

She purrs like a kitten and now using her as my daily driver.

Paul

Hey Paul

What a beautiful example of the best Electrolux model line produced - the 500s.

You were lucky to have a replacement internal hose for that as they always split on these models but spares are so few and far between.

Electrolux 504

Hi Gareth & Jamie

Thanks for your comments.

The vac is in fantastic condition for its age, very quiet and good suction. The dust duct had perished badly and I had a spare brand new one i bought some time ago. After replacing the filters, new belt, new bag she picks up great and so light to use.

Jamie, have you still got your 502, I remember you saying you was going to dismantle her. I love the 502 and got one in the loft.

I might be trimmimg down my collection soon as I need the space in the loft. Next weekend I am going to sort out which one I might sell.

Paul.

Yes I do still have my 502 and have not dismantled it yet, but I am still certain that I will.  It is just beyond reasonable repair in my hands and I doubt anybody else would purchase it from me for a price that would even cover the postage.

At the moment finances are dire though so the vacuums are all going on the back burner for now.  Once I have two pennies to rub together I can start to think about fixing some and getting rid of some etc...

Ooohh that's lovely! The 500 series are one of, if not my all time favourite, upright cleaners.

But they're hard to find in America.
