I noticed this a few weeks ago, it would appear that TTI has aquired the Dirt Devil brand in the UK.

Those small uprights are unmistakably TTI, sold here in the US under the Hoover brand. Plus it seems that the old Dirt Devil UK website is no longer active.

TTI also own Vax here, hence the US Hoover Windtunnel Air is branded as the Vax Mach Air/Air Reach/Air3, although I believe it was a Vax design to begin with.

These Dirt Devil's have also been previously branded as Vax.

It is easy to jump to conclusions...

The Dirt Devil UK website is under construction. As far as the UK company are concerned, they are NOT owned by TTI but by the Pulse Products company who are a private label brand, who also own another budget brand, Hinari.

For years Dirt Devil products in Europe have gone under sale with vacuum cleaner models from MANY brands, not just TTI products.

Their new website sure looks like the U.S TTI one......

It does appear ownership of the brand in the UK has now transferred to TTI. Under the "Contact Us" section of the website, the postal address is for TTI head office in Hampton Lovett, Worcs. This is the same address given for Vax and Oreck also.

YES, now in 2015 TTI own Dirt Devil UK. I took the time to have a chat with one of their online agents and it seems TTI have NOW taken over the European and UK divisions of Dirt Devil.

This is great news to me. Perhaps at last we will see the traditional hand held Handy vacs again and not the plastic box versions sold by other countries and the end of rebadged Hometek Hunter brush vacs.

Infact, the implications strike a familiar feeling...

Now that TTI are owning Dirt Devil Europe, there's a few implications I have noticed before. Of course I am speculating but this would be great:

Initially and as a franchise, the sole provider for Dirt Devil in the UK has always been at Argos where it is seen as a budget line brand name, same as in the U.S. However it was only a few years ago that "Bush" and "Argos Value" were churning out BAGGED vacuums including their plastic bagged upright vacuum cleaner that used TTI owned Vax drive belts and parts based on their "Essentials' range of bagless vacuums.

Vax in the UK have never done a bagged upright vacuum since the days of their upright washer vacs and the series that spun off from that design. So for all intents and purposes, Argos Value and Bush had a market all to themselves where the sole bagged upright was concerned.

This could well mean that Dirt Devil in the UK could in theory "produce" their own line of bagged uprights. I can't see TTI knocking back an opportunity to make money. Looks like there could be every opportunity I could well be owning a U.S Hoover TaskVac bagged upright sooner than expected, even if perhaps it may well be rebranded as a Dirt Devil...
