My 15yr old Pro Heat has had a hard life but never let me down. I went to get it out of it's closet and almost passed out from the mold/mildew smell. It seems my dear SIL (the same one who ran my KM Blueberry Progressive so long the bag exploded in the machine. "Oh, the proformance indicator light means to check bag? I thought it meant it was working") must have put it away full/wet. So I did the smart thing and shampooed the carpet with it anyway. It still smelled afterward so I brilliantly thought 'bleach water!'. Ran hot water in the sink, added too much bleach, stuck the hand wand in the water and let it suck. That seemed to work so I repeated it. Then I decided to run plain hot water through to rinse. 'No worries because it will stop suction when tank is full'. Except it didn't. I got distracted, heard the motor start to labor and looked to see bleach smelling fog blowing out of the exhaust accompanied by nasty looking water flooding out of the bottom. So the poor thing is stuck out on the porch in killer GA humidity to dry and I get around to cleaning it soon...
