It has a replacement plug, but the cord itself appears original to me.

And I was thinking of buying it. Does anyone know where I can get the original plug and just replace the replacement plug with the original?

that's not posible. the hoover plug was moulded into the cord itself. youd have to find an nos cord of the correct color and replace the whole thing

It's just a plug What's the big deal? I put a replacement plug just like that on one of my Kirbys. It works just fine.

Phoenixman

I have an original cord -- color correct -- with a "Hoover" plug if you would like to buy it. I can post a picture.

Just let me know

Kyle

I'm very picky about originality when it comes to vintage vacuum cleaners. I do not like replacements. I am looking to buy a Hoover Vacuum that has that replacement plug. Most of it is clean, however, the bag also has a tear in it.

Kyle, let me think about it and I'll get back to you. I'll write a separate forum about the cord with the plug if I decide to buy the machine.
