I found a 913 on our upper floor under a pile of my cousins's stuff to be recycled. I didn't even know it was there. I pulled it out, and it was pretty hit. The paint was peeling so bad, I decided to sandblast and respray the whole vac. I added NOS agitator holders and the front belt guard, NOS wheels, bag guard, and added a u7037 bag that I got off of ebay. I knew the original bag was black, but also knew it would be much harder to find. I was showing it to my brother and cousin at our vac shop, and we started talking about how you never see them anymore. Well today a customer came in with a Sanitaire SC887 that needed the fan replaced. Their company is literally 200 yards from our shop. He said his boss was wondering if we would take a vacuum in on trade in exchange for the repair on the sanitaire. I went outside to look at the vac. The customer opened the sliding door on his sprinter van and I had to almost laugh. Keeping cool, I said yea, I don't normally take trade ins, but we could work something out. Well it turned out to be a 918 so clean and original, it looks better than my resto. The first pic is the hit 913, the second the restored 913 and the third, the time capsule 918.

Here is a better picture of the respray on the 913. The body color is Rustoleum Hammered silver, and the two tone top on the hood is Rustoleum Hammered gray.

You did well on your restoration--looks awesome! Good thing you didn't give an automatic 'no' to the trade-in request.
