Hey All, longtime follower, but my first post to the forum. I just acquired this General Electric upright, but don't know a lot about them. It is in really good shape a side from normal wear and tear.

She needs a new belt, any suggestions on what current belts on the market will work? Posted some pics.

Thanks!

Grant

I have a earlier one

From 1964, it has a light and turns on automatically when you lower the handle, these are , in my estimation, one of the best uprights ever made, as for the belt, I don't remember exactly what I used.

I think I used a Hoover Elite belt on mine.

Yes, a Hoover elite belt works perfectly.

My neighbor had one of those.

I'd have to "go over there and put the belt on her cleaner for her"... as directed by my late mother. She also had the first "shop vac" I ever saw. She'd open the windows and vacuum the raing gutters, (E chutes for the Brits). Let's just say she was "very Clean and THOROUGH".
