The St. Louis Vac U Friends came out to the vacuum cleaner museum for a mini meet. Our friend Joel Zambrano from New Mexico made the trip, so we held a mini meet. Joel had been ripped off by a vacuum cleaner repair shop that he took his Electrolux silverado to. They charge him $60 to change the carbon brushes and replace the ball bearing. Neither of which they did. So, I decided to do it for him at no cost. Joel is a great guy and a lot of fun, as you will see in the photos. Here is Joel with my Hoover model 69.

The suction power of the simplicity gusto was "shocking" to Joel. He was surprised to say the least. He purchased the new "Riccar Prima" canister vacuum cleaner while he was there.

Many people are of the assumption that I do not like Kirby vacuum cleaners. Nothing could be further from the truth. I got my heritage 2 and my legend 2 together for a picture. After we all had a chance to run them both.

Bill Kirby with his belated birthday present. One of my duplicate machines. A Eureka challenger, model M. It has amazing suction for a vacuum cleaner made before World War II.

My good friend, And former VCCC member, Evan Rogers, wanted a heavy duty Electrolux upright for his collection. I presented this one to him, it would have matched the silverado.

Tom - So can you test out any of these vacuums when you visit the museum? Even the ones that use water for filtration?

We can run and test any of the vacuums at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum. Including all the models that use water for filtration (like the Delphin, Rainbow, Sirena, Thermax, etc.)
