I'm of courese doing this post late. We did holiday cleaning so I thought it would be fun to do spring cleaning. I've already done all mine during the move so I'm good to go. What is everyone using for thier spring cleaning? What machines and products?

I used to new Shark Powered and the Rainbow and a slew of cleaning products.

I was testing my Dyson Cinetic upright, and used it exclusively for Spring Cleaning. Used all the attachments, and even vacuumed the car. I wanted to see if I could get any fine dust to leak into the motor. Not one speck. In a month or so, I'll go back to the Rainbow 75th Anniversary Edition, which is my preferred vacuum of choice.

I did my spring cleaning a few weeks ago; primarily with my Kirby Sentria 2 in upright mode and my G4 in canister mode. I use comet for the john and tub, orange Awesome for the bathroom sink and kitchen. I used my Hoover Floormate and Floormate solution for the floors.

Of course, when I got my new-to-me Rainbow last week, I had to go over everything again! So satisfying seeing all the crud!

I've been using my Hoover Windtunnel 2 Rewind Pet as my daily driver since I got it. It's a very good machine; however it's a little fragile.

Vacuumfreak95, you should show your Fantom Thunder!

the big cleaning will have to wait. I have a few more renovation projects to do before. They will create a lot of dust and dirt. I have to finally install that oak block paneling in the family room,as well as paint that big stairway. from the bottom to the top is a twenty feet span. I have to get thisd done before August.

I do spring cleaning all year

LOL

I keep my place tidy and clean. I never designate a certain time of year to do deep cleaning, I just do it when I'm in the mood.. I used to help my grandma do hers in the spring. They were smokers and the curtains, walls, EVERYTHING had to be washed. Additionally, they had a wood burning stove so that added to the mess. Not to mention she had a lot of traffic in her house, people coming in and out, and she cooked a lot! Even with all that, she kept in decently clean, if you could get past the smoking (which makes everything so nasty in a house)

My house is all electric and only 2 non-smoking people so it doesn't get nearly as nasty. Add to that the fact that I'm a clean freak year round, so it pretty much stays that way.

I use my Rainbow, and sometimes my Sirena, Comet cleanser, dish liquid and a bottle of bleach water to clean most everything

I do maybe four deep cleanings a year. The first one is in the spring. This is my way of getting ready for the season. I get all the windows washed, the carpets cleaned the garage, basement cleaned. I also go and powerwash the decks and porches and patio furniture. I do it up good. I usually do this about April or May depending on the weather. I do my fall cleaning around November and I do pretty much all the same except the basement. I do another really good cleaning inside only around middle of December when I get ready for the holidays and then when the holidays are over.

Lately I've been using my "new" Hoover Model 29. Now that I have the attachments it can go almost anywhere!

The spring of acquiring cleaning equipment

human's profile picture
I think I've done more acquiring of cleaners than actual cleaning since the first of the year. Hey, I'm a slob who lives alone and prefers tinkering with machines to actually cleaning with them. Let's see, I picked up a Royal Prince 501 hand vac in late January, a Kirby G5 the end of February, a pristine Kirby G6 a month later, followed almost immediately by an Electrolux Super J and then a very early Royal Prince 501 a couple of weeks ago. Whew! just writing that out makes me realize how insane I've been the past few months and I'm not even listing the parts and supplies went into the mix, especially to fix up the G5. The good thing is I've actually gotten some cleaning done as I've tested these various machines out. But as for acquisitions, put a fork in me; I think I'm done for the foreseeable future.
