I am replacing front and rear motor bearings on my Kirby CLassic III and not sure what to do with the felt front seal sent to me with the bearings. I found in my vacuum a thin plastic ring that must be a dust shield held in by a metal retainer that is in the bearing housing under the bearing. No felt ring and it does not really look like there is room for one.

Anyone with a Classic III or similar front bearing arrangement that knows if this model should have or could have the felt ring?

Dan

Thanks, I'll reassemble with the original parts as they seem fine. New bearings , though.
