I have never had a convertible which seems to be a go to for you guys, but I do have a Decade 80, serious power there, would they be a bit alike?I have one carpet that fuzz just sticks to, even with the Kirby or Royal, but the Decade 80 takes it off, has to be the brushroll as my Kenmore canister does it too and it is nothing special lime green cheap recent model.Thinking that 80 works nearly as well as the big league uprights here, yes, no?

A Decade 80 IS a Convertible. Same motor, fan, brush roller, etc. The difference was where the attachments mount. Convertibles have a converter that you slide in the back underneath. The Decade has a front mounted attachment converter. That's it. Only difference.

The later run Convertibles also utilized the front conversion. Many clicked into high speed when the handle was in the storage position. If memory serves me, front conversion came about somewhere in the mid/late '70s.
