I had a U6039 that I *just* sold on eBay, darn! Not to worry though, DAMs are fairly easy machines to come by and I'm sure someone will offer one to the club eventually.

When did hoover start making Self Proplled Dial-A-Matics? My grandmother had one in orange with no head light. I remember using it and it could drag you across the room if you pushed just a little too hard.

Hello.

Power Drive DAMS debuted in 1969.
The 4 level carpet height adjustment debuted in 1969 on the Convertibles.

Hey CJ, there's a Dial-A-Matic on ebay right now listed by a fellow club member who's a good guy to buy from, he has it listed for 40.00 on a Buy-It-Now, complete with tools. Check it out!

i think that golden one is the same one rick was talking about. IMO the person who placed the first bid woulda done better by using BIN at 40 dollars, as its sure to sell for more than that now.
