I know its a long shot, but I would love to find a black belt lifter for my 505. It's such a nice machine, it's a shame for it to have the wrong belt lifter. If anyone has a spare stashed away...name your price.

He's just making belt caps, which wouldn't work on my machine. I need the actual lifter.

A big thanks to Will Hemb for locating a beautiful 505 belt lifter for me! I can't wait to complete this machine...I feel like Indiana Jones about to place the headpiece on the Staff of Ra in Raiders of the Lost Ark!

Let's hope it's not broken

Adam, I purposely ignored your first post on this thread, but if you insist on a response from me...

I assure you, the belt lifter is not broken and I will be posting photos when it's installed. Last time I asked for photos of something you were trying to sell me (which I didn't even really need but was trying to help you out since you said you desperately needed the money), you flipped out and blocked me on Facebook. Even if you did have this alleged belt lifter in your possession, I'd rather stick an old sock in the hole where it goes than buy it from you. Act like an adult and stop causing trouble.

I received a package via UPS yesterday afternoon, can anyone guess what was inside?

Not only was there a beautiful black belt lifter, but a bonus surprise as well; a 505 manual!!

A big thanks to Will again for making my Kirby dreams come true.

I have uploaded 12 photos of the machine for your viewing pleasure:

Bee-u-tee-full!

Really nice of Will to complete your 505, and an awesome restoration job!

beautiful

This 505 Kirby looks great for being 70 years old. I am sure that a Dyson or a Roomba will not still be running in 2085!

Thanks for the compliments!

No, I highly doubt a Dyson (or any other new vacuum, for that matter) will be running in 70 years! The original owner was still using this 505 up until she died a couple of years ago!
