Please Help - Electrolux ZE 62

That's a fairly difficult thing to say. Pretty much machines are worth what one can get for them. If there are several people interested in a particular machine prices can go high but a week later the same machine may go for next to nothing. At the same time you have to take into account location too. Presently there are not a lot of collectors in Australia and shipping costs elsewhere definitely factor into what people can afford to pay.

Just to give you some info about the machine (and this is based on the English version ZA62 as I have not found any about Electrolux Australia) The model 62 was produced from 1957-1959 and was the top of the line machine at the time. The English machine is Cream with Bottle Green ends but, if I remember correctly, the Australian version is Blue with Wine ends. The last part of the English run introduced the telescopic wand and the dual dusting brush/small nozzle but I don't know if that was done in Australia.

Checkrate/Likes Hi there guys, I am in desperate need of some advice. I have been tasked with the job of sorting through a passed relatives belongings in order to raise some funds. Now one of the pieces, is a Electrolux ZE 62 Vacuum cleaner, still in its box with original tag and manual. All attactchments are there and it is in amazing condition given its age. Would some one please give me an indication of what price I should be asking on it as I honestly am out of my depth so I thought it best to reach out and ask those that know. I would appreciate any and all help, and if pictures would help then by all means please just ask. Thankyou for your time in reading this. Rachael

Checkrate/Likes 1 Hi Doug, Thankyou so much for your reply, you are exactly the type of person I needed advice from. Yes you are spot on, this version is the blue with wine ends, it doesn't have a telescopic tube, a two piece, but it has all the attachments as I went through the manual to check. It is in such great condition, no wonder it was top of the line in those days, I can honestly say, it has me thinking a lot the past few days about the quality of products back then versus now. They really were made to last. The hose really demonstrates that, it looks so strong and well made, versus the corrugated plastic of today. Sorry for babbling on, I must say it has been a really interesting learning curve. I will post some photos for you and hopefully that will help. Checkrate/Likes 1 Hi Rachael: Very nice!!! LOL that's one of the machines I'd love to have but shipping to Canada would be horrendous. The only other part it may have had is the sprayer as it came with the English version (and I have seen a picture of the ZE62 with one). This is my English ZA62 Its interesting to note that the English 62 also introduced the new plastic crevice tool but that wasn't used in Australia till much later. Doug

Checkrate/Likes And another piece of trivia. The Australian ZE62 was the same colour scheme as the Canadian Z54 (1953-1957) which was the bottom line model at the time here.
