I just bought a well maintained Hoover 6525C (from first owner!).
According to the serialn° it's from 1972 (month 6).
It runs really smooth, a lot better than my own 6525C that I dug out of the basement a few weeks ago.
I'm now the proud owner of 2 of these lovely vacuums :)
The left one is mine (from 1973), the right one is the 'new' one. Colour is less faded as well.

Oh dear, is the bug biting already? This is how it starts, you need a nice matching hoover 417 for above floor cleaning too don't forget!

By sounds different, is it smoother, and not so roary? I bet the belts better on it. Compare it to your basement find one, if it's less streched, fit it to the other and see what the difference is!

A side note, regarding the other vacuum, have you taken the belt off and turned it on? Does it sound any better?

@beko1987: I just picked it up yesterday, didn't have time to check it out more. I keep kidding myself I'm not going to start a vacuum collection, no way :)
Now I still need to find me one of those wireless vacuums :) i.imgur.com/o2awsv1.gifv...

It was a Hoover 6525C that first got me into collecting vacuums. I had never seen one before and didn't know anything about them, but it looked appealing.

I now have around 130 vacuum cleaners.

You have been warned!!!

Robin.

Me to, I'm in love of my 6525C.
I cannot compare my small collection with your 130 vacuum cleaners

The last 6525C I got last week. Vacuum is in perfect condition because it stays in a basement about 40 years.
The saler told me the vacuum has work for only 2 years.
I only had to install a paper bag and a new belt.
