Hi Compactc9guy,
Yes, the 4 row brush roller does make a huge difference! I recently installed a new neck, cord, belt and brush roll in my 1998 Tristar PN (Model 2-101, black base and the geared belt). I ordered the power nozzle parts directly from Tri-Star- the prices were actually pretty reasonable. When I put it together and did my test run- this PN was better than new. Same thing here- the PN pulls itself across the carpet. I also replaced the motor in the Tri-Star with an Ametek Lamb Hi Performance 2 stage Motor- model # 115923 (not standard Tri-Star equipment, this was an eBay buy). These upgrades have turned my formally docile Tri-Star vacuum in to a homicidal, angry, psychotic vacuum that takes no prisoners in the war on dirt! Dust bunnies beware.... :) |

I have two Compacts with the Eureka made power nozzles, and have changed both of the brushrolls out to the Vibra-Groomer II type. Talk about a cleaning beast! The brushes are stiff and along with the beaters, it rivals any deep cleaner. |

Dust bunnies beware...." I was just looking through the archives this morning and found your comment. That was hilarious!!! :-). Geez, if your TriStar DXL is now a homicidal, angry, psychotic vacuum, I wonder what it's owner is like? Hehe! :-) Thanks for making me laugh this morning, have a great weekend. Rob |
