An Air-Way Centurion and the honeymoon hasn't worn off yet!
I'm so impressed with the suction and build quality of this unit. The Cen-Tec power nozzle has such a unique brushroll with solid rows of red tufted bristles.

I had an opportunity to trade with Tom Gasko for this machine and I was so surprised to find out exactly what I had. Tom tells me that there were only 26 of the Centurion model ever made and that mine was the very first off the line. I am blown away! I can scratch this one from the list. I always wanted an Air-Way with a power nozzle, but these were not widely distributed in Texas.

Such fine machines, I have a newer Vita-Vac that I really love too. Its really too bad that the company went out of business!

This one was actually Tom's mother's I believe. I know for a brief time Austin had it as well before he left us too early.

Yes, that's what Tom told me. I finally found a vintage hose. Now I just need those tools.

Nice Machine. Looks like it has a very nice power head. How many rows of brushes does it have. Looks like it could have 3 rows of brushes from the picture.

Airway Centurion

I have one of that model new in the box that I got from Air-Way-Charlie. It's nice. And I have another one kind of like it that I bought from a guy in Indiana. It worked good for two times and then the motor went bad... Oh well some day I will find a motor for it so I can use it again.. Dan

Rows of brushes, bad motor

Yes, it has 3 rows of brushes. Motors will go bad. You never know what the other owner has done. The good news is that the motor for both the canister and the power nozzle are easy to find and replace.

The Air-Way motor is a standard Lamb double fan, double ball bearing motor. Wholesale cost is about $50 for a new one. Very easy to install.
