If you are cleaning office buildings,Lobbies,Hotel rooms, schools or any other commercial facility with wall to wall commercial carpeting i would consider buying a 1989 Hoover elite 200. Hoover Elite 200 cleans way better than oreck, windsor or any other commercial vacuum.the secret behind it is a aggressive brushroll to beat out damaging grit. the top fill type A bag allows you to empty the vacuum without last weeks dirt escaping and flying all over the carpet. this makes it ideal for allergy sufferers because all dirt picked up is sealed in the bag for good.

Or a Kirby will do too

Even a Eureka Dial-A-Nap or Sanitaire

For glued down

Commercial carpet....STRAIGHT SUCTION..!If the carpet cant be picked up and vibrated, a powered brush really doesent do much.

If I had to use a vacuum in a commercial setting daily it would definitely be Kirby!

What area of the lobby? If at the entrance the vacuum has to deal with stuff such as pebbles, sand, and salt(winter).Usually these are dump bag Sanitaires. When you get to the offices and other occupied areas, backpacks are used-they are quieter,no roller brushes or beater bars to tangle telephone and computer wiring on the floor around desks and such. And don't forget NSS M1 canister vacuums for these areas-esp if striaght suction is used.Remember the cables?NSS has a wide variety of straight suction tools for carpets and hard floors. They do have a powernozzle for the M1 if you are in an area where you can use it.
