Going through some of my shelves of vacuum literature, I pulled a neat one out the other day. I've had it for quite some time, I don't recall exactly where or when I got it.
Nonetheless, it's an oversized "Life" magazine-sized 32 page publication put out by the Hoover Company in 1956, touting the advances they had made in research, development, and production work not just for itself, but for other agencies as well. There are sections on Manufacturing, Die Casting, Plastic Molding, Stamping, Plating, Enameling, Finishing, and Assembling, among others.
There are some fabulous pictures of the inside of the factory, the coolest is a nearly full page shot of unfinished Constellation shells travling on a conveyor belt. I'm sure this publication was used by Hoover to try and procure business from outside firms. It's a cool piece of history, that I'm happy to share with the world. Robert has beautifully scanned it and cleaned it up for your downloading pleausre.
It's also Robert's 1,201st document that he has scanned and put up on Automatic Ephemera. Quite a milestone! :-)
