Just looks like.....

more imports from China to me. That upright looks very TTI-ish.

The upright is definitely TTI. They were sold here as Vax a few years ago. Not bad vacuums to be honest.

That Hamilton Beach was also sold as a Dirt Devil, think it was discontinued a couple of years ago? Sold here in Canada at Canadian Tire for $200, $130 on sale.

the shop vac looking model is actually an ash vacuum.

I have opened the door to bagless plasti-vacs, and Dirt Devils. But not both at the same time thank you..
So of course I have the DD Cruiser, a crazier vacuum you will not find.

But a guitar made from a Dirt Devil? Now i'm without words!

Have a DD Cruiser that I obtained from the closed vac shop trade in pile. Was traded in for a Riccar upright. That "G-Fiddle" made from a DD Cruiser is unusual-wonder how it sounds???Wonder if it made a better guitar than a vacuum?Tried mine once-wasn't really impressed.Just keep it for display. It is in pretty good shape for a bagless machine.Uusually these found in trade in piles are dirty, beat up and smelly.

Vax had similar in the UK Mach 1 to 4 uprights, (it went to Mach 7 in terms of model ranges though).

Looks like Hometek in the UK have now brought out a similar one too (HT686)

The cylinder/canister is sold under "Hoover Hurricane" in Australia (Hoover in AU are owned by TTI).

hoover in Australia

godfreys_guy's profile picture
Is NOT owned by TTI, it is owned by Godfrey's, the company who retail and wholesale the brand. Godfreys use a range of TTI, Candy and self sourced products in their Hoover range.

Recently more TTI products have been retailed but there is a few Candy products such as the A then stick vac and the steam stations.

Vax brings things like the air range to Australia for TTI but Godfreys bring in things like the linx, carpet shampooers and steam products like the twin tank series etc.

So Godfreys have a factory in China? Godfreys may well retail and sell the brand to customers but the products come from TTI. Granted you may well carry several other brands including Hoover Europe products, but to my knowledge, the mere "ownership" of the company is TTI including your Vax Linx.

Sorry, But I must put my foot down...

Godfreys OWN/Licence the name in Australia, and purchase some models from TTI, Some from Candy and some from other sources. A nameplate label on the product here in Australia on a TTI product states BOTH TTI on one and Hoover Floorcare Asia Pacific on the other - which is a company OWNED by Godfreys Group Limited, Which is the Holding company that Godfreys recently launched on the Australian Stock Exchange. TTI Australia is based in Doncaster, whereas Hoover, Godfreys, Vacspare and GFY are based in Glen Waverley. I don't dispute that some of the products are from TTI but they DO NOT hold the ownership of the name in Australia, the same as they don't in the UK.

From the Godfreys Group Limited Share Prospectus:
Godfreys is an iconic Australian brand, with a trading
history spanning more than 80 years. It is one of
Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest speciality retailers
of domestic and commercial floorcare and associated
cleaning products. Godfreys has an extensive range
of company-owned brands (including Sauber, Wertheim
and Pullman), an exclusively licensed brand (Hoover)
and third party brands (such as Bissell, Miele and
Electrolux) in its product portfolio.

One shouldn't wonder why the products don't have the Godfrey's name then. Simple as. Your company may well be the holding company but end of the day, its still a TTI product, brand and model specific dependent, of course.

I was just doing some research on Hoover Australia because of a Windtunnel I just got that was manufactured their. According to Hoover Australia.s website Godfreys is one of the many places to buy Hoover vacuums. Not "owner"of the brand. That is Hoover Floor care asia pacofic a division of TTI. Not one mention on their site about been owned by Godfreys But they do tell you you can buy at their shop.
