Check this out. This weekend when the vacuum folks came for a visit, we had pre-arranged to visit a lady nearby who's father had just passed away. He had been somewhat of a hoarder and had sold Hoover vacuums in the 60's. We went to check out what was there, since they wanted to get rid of some of these things and what did we find but some new Hoover Floor Washers in the box. We bought most of the machines as parts machines, but she had something very unusual-1959 Hoover Floor Washers new in the box. I got one for myself and agreed to list one on Ebay to see what it might be worth. Check it out and let me know what you think. These are very rare, and even rarer new in the box. Unfortunately, they have been stored in a damp basement, and the one I got had a bit of rust on the handle, but the one in the box seems in pretty good shape except for the box itself. We opened up mine and used it and it works fine. It is in great shape/

Aside from the little bit of rust on the end of the handle, my machine is mint! The one in the box appears to have no flaws.

Hoover Floor Washer

I also have one of these and I use it often. And here's a bit of history on it. The Floor Washer was designed for Hoover by Don Krammes, husband of Stacy Krammes former director of the Hoover Historical Center, which itself was the original home of the Hoover family.

I'm not 100% sure when exactly The Floor Washer was discontinued, but it was so before the Floor A Matic made its debut in 1967.

First was the electric Floor Washer (1950s-66)

Next the Floor-A-Matic (1967-2000)

Then the FloorMate (2001-present)
