I got this email from Hoover this afternoon which shows a Hoover Air Cordless along with an Air Cordless with a longer hose and bigger dust cup, a cordless Floormate, as well as a stick vac and hand vac. I clicked on the image and it only takes me to the Hoover Air Cordless. I have yet to try the Air Cordless but from the review I've seen, it seems like a decent vacuum. Maybe the new one will be more powerful? Has anyone used an Air Cordless? Does it clean as well as the Air Steerable? My Steerble is the best cleaning vacuum I've purchas in the last two years.

The onlt thing I MUST get is the 'hand cleaner'. I think they're good. Is is as strong as a corded/ Not exactly. i purchased another battery.MOST people do. So, they may 'continue' cleaning if/when the battery dies.
It's a nice vac, but, I wouldn't replace any of the others in favor of it.

I have the Vax Air Cordless which is similar to the Hoover one you can get in the U.S.

Lets just say the suction through the hose is useless. It will be interesting to see if the motor on board has been improved to compensate with the longer hose. As is, the suction through the floor head is far stronger due to the trio of permanent built in Windtunnel channels.

As a broke college student right now, I don't have $300 to shell out on a vacuum . But I do like the concept of the air cordless and that its a cordless upright. I love my Air Steerable, it cleans very well, better than my Dyson and shark (not bashing). Hopefully the price will go down once the new one is launched. I private messaged Hoover on Facebook and they read the message but never answered. So maybe this email wasn't supposed to be sent out?

Narayan, what's the performance like with your Vax Air cordless at the cleaner head? Is it as good as a full sized vacuum like Vax claim?
Thanks

Found the new Air Cordless Lift Upright on the Hoover Website, search using keyword cordless and you will find it.

I had the chance to use one of the originals, although only at the store. The suction is surprisingly adequate; significantly better than any other cordless I've used. Using the hose for dusting and most quick cleanups will be perfectly doable. Suction at the cleaning head seems to be slightly better, like as sebo_fan said, the Windtunnel channels help.  The brush roll is a little soft, though I think they did this to reduce friction and conserve energy. The cleaning ability was great on commercial carpeting, but I don't think it would be amazing on anything plush or thick.

One thing that concerns me: the motor is located directly above the cyclones inside the top half of the bin. It's tiny. Will it be able to sustain falls, let alone long periods of use without overheating? I guess time will tell. Otherwise, it's another excellent product from Hoover.

I find the Vax has better pick up than the "conventional" Morphy Richards Supervac (Same as Hoover Presto in the U.S) as a cordless upright. The motor being at the top means that in time, either a replacement top could be purchased or even a more powerful motor for the Vax.

The only thing that gets in the way is the battery pack at the front. It is a particular vulnerable part of this cordless upright. Id say it does give a good pick up from the floor head, so yes it is as good as the corded Vax Mach Air I own and the Vax is just as kind to my wool carpets given that both brush rolls are soft.

Despite the MR having less power though, it doesn't suck up the bathroom mats. Both the suction channels on the Vax and the lack of brush bar protector grids on the soleplates means loose rugs can be sucked up easily into the floor head which then stops the brush roll from moving.

I like the idea of the cordless floor mate. I have the impulse cordless floormate and it still runs great, if you start with clean floors it will keep them clean. I'm always shocked when I empty the water.

I did try the air cordless at my vac shop and the suction is pretty wimpy, the owner said he doesn't push people to get them unless they have to have it.

By searching Cordless on Hoover.com like sbnhvlvr stated brings up the new vacuums. The Air Lift is the new one, its $350 and lifts away like Shark, Bissell or the one Dirt Devil. The Air Cordless handvac is $130 and has a motorized pet brush, but for $50 more you can get the Air Cordless Stick Vac that has windtunnel technology and is a 2 in 1 with the handvac built in and it comes with that motorized pet brush too.

As for the Cordless Floor Mate, nothing, but they still have the Impulse for $65 but I don't think you can buy.

I really want to get that Air Cordless Lift, it combines my two favorite modern vacuums, The Air Steerable and the Shark Navigator Pro Lift Away in a cordless form. But for $350, that's more than I paid for my Dyson DC40, and I'm still regretting that purchase. Maybe I'll be lucky enough if Hoover has a give on Facebook and I win one :)

I meant I like the idea of another cordless floormate that uses Li Ion instead of the NiMh that my impulse uses.

I have the Floor Mate Spinscrub the model that, came out before the new "Deluxe" that has the dry vacuum built in. I'm not too impressed with it. My Swiffer Wet Jet cleans the laminate in my kitchen and laundry rooms better than my Floor Mate. But maybe that's because I got the Floor Mate reconditioned at Big Lots?

This Home Depot ad was on my Facebook. I'll have to go and check it out, they might have the other cordless vacuums too.
