Fantom

They are heavy and probably not worth the shipping charges, If you must have one of these get the Thunder,I had one that someone put out to the curb,it just needed a belt,it was a good vacuum,I wish I had kept it,I now have a Fury that I picked up at a rummage sale dirt cheap,It needed a belt of coarse, I thought it had a clog somewhere because of the poor suction so I completely took it apart andcleaned it,made a little difference but not much, but she looks real nice, right now shes next to the Houskeeper Plus, they make a perfect pair, the Regina with the first on board tools and the Fantom cyclonic bagless, both poor performers, the one good thing I like about the Fantom is there is no filter in the dirt cup,you can just empty it and wash it out as needed, comes in handy in my kithen where I have wood floors and rugs,I cook a lot and make a mess, the brush roller doesn't hurt the floors and I can empty the dirt container instead of wasting bags since the kitchen gets vacuumed everyday,my Shark Sweeper did a better job but it finally wore out. I have a Cyclone on the way an I read that they were the best out of the Fantom upright Line.

Fantoms are not bad. If you want a machine that you can take care of get one. I think the best was the thunder. It is heavy but not as bad as a post ds80 machine. We had one for 7 them they will last for years and years. I got a fury from my friend joe, he owns a vacuum shop. I cleaned it up, took it down to the motor. It picks up better then a dyson. I think if yah want one there is one on ebay. Not bad including shipping.

YOu know that was one of the first fantoms ever made. Because of the white trim and all. That means it is what some people call a fantom domestic. Ionas looked the same except a few minor details. I know Andy Beres knows alot more about fantoms adn ionas then I do.

Iona I would think would be older since that was the orginal name of the company which they later changed to Fantom iirc.

Iona itself was a Canadian company that made small appliances and I think they also had a plant in the NE USA. The small appliances they made weren't of the best quality, they were sort of the low-cost or budget stuff compared to GE, Sunbeam etc.
