I have no idea what going on here, but apparently, this is so. 90% of Dyson exports go to Germany.
Interesting article. Also says how a Bosch engineer gave £11,500 to give details of "new Dyson motors". CLICK HERE TO GO TO oliveoiltinfoil's LINK |

I can't find the thread in the archives, but there was a post here not all that long ago which detailed which style and brand of vacuums were the biggest selling in which country. I distinctly remember that bagged cylinder vacuums were, worldwide, the most popular and the biggest selling brand in Germany was Bosch. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Turbo500's LINK |

This newer article from The Telegraph also fails to mention that Bosch have tested Dyson vacuums and found them to be below the claimed EU performance data that Dyson have released.
Im also at pains to point out that even if Dyson may well be the best selling brand in Germany, the Germans don't like touching dirt in any great capacity. They're a very hygienic nation. About the only time they're not is when they are buying up so many stick vacuums or hand held cordless things to do the jobs that they don't like doing (washing windows etc) and tons of brands cater for them, much of which we don't get to see in the UK. A classic example of German ingenuinity and cordless cleaning is the Karcher Window washer machine - and look at the brands who are now copying and releasing similar. Brands like Philips, Rowenta, Hoover, AEG etc - they're all producing so many cordless and corded stick vacuums for the German market, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Dyson's hand held vacuum (and associated pole with a motor head) is outselling all those brands. The Germans go mad for new gadgets, especially compact solutions. |

The Karcher Window Vac is a great little machine. Just today I used it, hot soapy water wiped on the windows then sucked off with the Window Vac. Sparkling results in an instant. |

Good old soapy hot water is good for most things, I agree - but I find that if I go at the windows with the stuff, it then makes the black rubber surrounds on the double glazing run. Then I'm left with nice and clean windows but then black staining that runs down the bottom panes. Hence the vinegar mix of Mr Muscle; it seems to limit that.

Cleaner!? Good lord, I couldn't cope with that. I'd have to clean before he/she arrived so they didn't think I had a dirty house and then clean again afterwards because they wouldn't do it properly - I'm certainly not paying £10 an hour for that luxury :P
I never see our window cleaner - I'm always at work when they come. We just get a bill once a month lol. |
