Hello. Sorry if the title may sound a bit vague but I don't know a lot about Miele's, and I don't know the name of the problem.

I just today purchased a Miele Revolution S658 from a second hand/thrift type shop for £10. It was listed at £15 but I haggled it down to ten as it is very scratched up. One of the reason's I was drawn to it was because it included a Powerhead, as well as four small tools, two genuine bags and a genuine filter & cage, and the instructions and the receipt, dated 2002.

To cut a long story short I brought it home, gave it a quick wipedown and plugged it in. It worked, very well with the Powerhead and had strong suck on the normal hose end. However, after vacuuming for about 7-8 minutes it just cut out, but the lights stayed on, so I switched it back on again. Upon switching it on it revved a few times and couldn't quite get to speed, as a result of this, the Powerhead turned on and off with the rev's. It revved about 7-8 times before making it up to speed, but the handle control wouldn't work, and it wouldn't switch off the Powerhead. I therefore switched off the machine at the machine, and then tried it 2 minutes later, however the same thing occurred.

I'm worried that it may be something expensive to replace, or maybe the entire hose assembly. If I can't find any sort of solution I shall have to return it, which is a shame as it's a great vacuum when it works.

Can anyone shed any light of what this problem may be?

Thanks in advance!
