Thank you,....I'm envious!

I just discovered that this last wash I did on the bag, delivered the death blow to the logo! It was peeling badly when I picked it up yesterday, and now after the bag dried, it just flaked off. There is a shadow remaining, as the bag faded I guess.

So what are my options? Looked on Ebay for a patch or something, to no avail. Back in the day when I lived in the Midwest, I remember I saw in one of the malls some outfit that did embroidery on the spot. On anything, or any kind of lettering. I guess I need to look on Google to find a local outfit that does that.

Does anyone have a closeup of this vintage logo (red and white) like in the pic above? I guess if I have a pic (with dimensions), I can take it to them and have them load it in their software that drives the sawing machine.

If a forum member did this before, I'd appreciate a pic and feedback.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh ... if only you'd asked about washing old Kirby bags with silkscreened logos before doing so....... :(

Yeah, I wish I asked. I am not happy it happened, but the bag was filthy, and had to be cleaned nevertheless. It was not usable in the condition it was in. So what are my options now? The bag will never be original again, but this is of very little concern to me. I don't think I "ruined" a historical rarity, or a museum piece, and since I am not a collector...........

I finally found the "vacpartspluss" that people talked about on this forum (for some reason my search engine skipped it several times), and I found a gray, open top bag, with red trim, and whole bunch of little "kirby" logos all over it. This will fit my 515 nicely, and provide service for the rest of my life. Old bag will be stored in the box for future generations. And that about settles it. Now I can sleep again.

Afraid I cant get at the machine at the moment. Kirbys aren't high on my list of machines I like so they are packed away at the back of the garage and, in this weather, it will be a long time before its warm enough to haul all that out. Sorry
