Does it have enough pressure and volume to create a fan spray when you pull the trigger on the hose? If so than you're working properly. There's really not much pressure to speak of, the pump is a small centrifugal pump that is powered by a small turbine that gets some of the machines suction diverted thru. the impeller is a small thing that resembles a 4 leaf clover, it only creates enough pressure/flow to send the water to the hose handle and fan it out behind the nozzle. When the machine is dispensing water onto the floor when using it as an upright there is no pump, its just gravity fed.
