A riend said, "Too bad you don't have red and green HOOVERS".
My responsorial psalm was, " Don't be silly". Which era???

John,
That's a chic-looking turquoise Hoover there. Haven't seen that model before. I like those old-fashioned Christmas lights. When you plug them in, they turn on. I have a number of those strings of lights, but I've relegated them to storage--would never give them away. They've been replaced with LED lights. Time marches on--but for those venerable Hoovers, though, stuck in time is a good thing.
Joe

I'll be hosting a post-Christmas meet. You're most welcome. It would be great to see you again.
Aren't those old HOOVERS great?

Nice red-and-green Hoover line-up and C-9 lights to "spruce" up (as in Christmas tree) your house for Christmastide, aka the twelve days of Christmas--December 25 to January 6. I decided to write a parody to the tune of "Silver Bells"* for the occasion.

*"Silver Bells" is a classic Christmas carol composed by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. It was released in 1950.

Here are the actual lyrics (stanzas 3 and 4 with the chorus) on which I wrote the parody:

Strings of street lights, even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures

Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all the bustle you hear

Chorus:

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmastime in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas Day

The song was further popularized by Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell in the 1951 movie, THE LEMON DROP KID. Here's the song clip on Youtube:

Here's my parody:

Hoover Trills

Strings of tree lights, even Hoovers,
shine in bright red or green
as their owners clean house with their treasures.

Hear the dirt crunch. See the dust bunch.
It's the Hoovers' big scene;
and above all the messes you'll hear ...

Chorus:

Hoover trills, Hoover trills;
it's Christmastime with the Hoovers.
Beating, sweeping, soon it will be Christmas-clean!**

**The Hoover Company's classic slogan: "It Beats...as it Sweeps...as it Cleans" (originally used in 1918; registered in 1958; and renewed in 1978, 1998 and 2009) trademarks.justia.com/720/15/it-b...

I was on a roll, so here's the Aerus/Electrolux parody of "Silver Bells" ...

'Luxing Trills

Strings of tree lights, even 'Luxes,
show their deep red or green
as their owners clean house with their treasures.

Hear the dirt crunch. See the dust bunch.
It's the 'Luxes' big scene;
and above all the messes you'll hear ...

Chorus:

'Luxing trills, 'Luxing trills;
It's Christmastime with the 'Luxes.
Touch no dirt, breathe no dirt ... soon you will see no more dirt!***

***Electrolux Corporation's classic slogan: "Touch No Dirt! Breathe No Dirt! See No Dirt!"(originally used in 1953; registered in 1956; renewed in 1976; expired in 1996) trademarks.justia.com/716/55/touc...

Not to further hijack your thread, but in keeping with your original theme here are some red-and-green-bodied Aerus/Electrolux cleaners and shampooer/polishers from online sources (wish I had my own line-up like you):

red (wine)-colored from the Special Edition series: Models 1623, 1572E and 2101A

green (jade)-colored: Hi-Tech 2100, Discovery II/Model 1500, and Model 2101

I did a similar one to ''Twas th Night Before Christmas".
It's in an archive, but I'm not sure how to cut/paste/re post it in here.

The outside and the inside are decorated beginning to look like Christmas. 🎄 I now have red and green powerdrive Hoovers.
