BNIB Kirby Ultimate G every year of the G series I had to buy two one to use and one to keep .
This was nice when it came out but sorta reminded me of a refreshed Generation 3 . Dan |

Now that you mention it Dan. It does remind me of the G3. Out of all g models, the ultimate g was probably my least favorite color scheme. Still, pretty awesome to have one nib.
If that n.i.b. G6 is taking up too much room in your house Dan, I could give it real nice home. Lol Thanks for sharing Dan, keep em coming, Alphonse |

The UG may look Gen3ish, but behavior is much more civilized. I think the transmission is more refined, smoother. Wasn't crazy about the color myself, but loved the machine. Its my current G machine. |

Just to be picky, wasn't crazy about the Sentria color scheme either, Red/gray. The Blue/??(Looks like the Demira curtains on "Days of Our Lives"; but I like it better. |

Sentrias original color scheme when it first came out but that wore off but the Sentria II I love the color scheme my girlfriend Kimmy calls it the Gucci and she loves the colors too .
Everyone has their favorite and yes the Ultimate G was a vast improvement over the Generation 3 I know the Avalir will be my new favorite once I get them . Dan |

KIrby this is the next in line the Ultimate G Diamond edition with the famous short lived two sipped switch aka delicate switch . I loved that feature but Kirby was flooded with calls and repairs because people would leave it on low and wonder why it wasn't cleaning .
My receipt is in the picture but price is hidden it was such an amazing price 😜😌😊 as all my Kirby purchases are ... Dan |

kirbyloverdan,
I was just going to message you to see if you had a picture of the box for the Diamond edition... It is very disappointing that they didn't change the box from the Ultimate G. The diamond edition is my favorite of the G series. It is one I can actually use on scatter rugs! I love the diamond pattern as well. The sentria II and the Diamond G are my two favorites for their colors and designs. You have quite the collection. Let me know if you ever need any NIB tacony, miele or lindhaus products! |

Well thank you so much I really appreciate your kind words .
Yes that was disappointing using basically the same box all they did was slapped Diamond edition and in bottom corner a 90th anniversary logo . I am always interested in NIB Tacony vacuums and maybe Lindhaus . Enjoy your evening I will private message you . Dan |

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure you would want to give your girlfriend a vacuum cleaner for a Christmas present? Call me crazy, but you might just get a slap on the face & accused of being sexist & a male chauvinist pig. Most women wouldn't consider a vacuum cleaner from their spouse on Christmas very thoughtful. Perhaps you should just give her the Kirby just out of the blue one day for no reason, if you really want her to have it.

Well, since I sell the things, its something I can grab off the shelf or out of stock and just take over for a quick gift...
I work 7 days a week so when I have time off its not usually spent trying to find gifts for people, just so I can make an appearance. I'm more of a .. to the point kind of person lol. I've given tandems, dyson cordless, supralites, immaculates and kirbys for gifts.. Its one of those things where I wait and see how peoples houses are during the year and I'll bring a 'helper' for a gift.. This year, thankfully, everyone is stocked on bags and filters for the vacs they received in the last few years. I'm off the hook. Oh, the tacony heaters make the perfect gift to the person that is *ALWAYS* too cold... Lol. *phew*!! |

That is the best way and because our friends and family know our interest and me also working hard long hours but most don't understand that ;)
Everyone I give cleaning gifts to always tell me ; Dan your the only one that can get away with this and they are always so appreciative knowing it comes from an expert and it wasn't a last minute grab a vacuum easy gift . Plus you and I give quality top of line vacuums not a bissell or other low quality big box store disposable vacuum . Dan |

Oh my good gawd - that Lindhaus looks like a great machine - but who in the world has all the time do clean like that AND have to do the extra maintenance. Lindhaus do themselves no favours there suggesting that the machine has "the world's lowest profile" yet at the start of the video you can clearly see the woman is struggling to get the upright under the table and cleaning further, - possibly one reason to why Lindhaus have cut that video a bit at the start.
I like the look of that Lindhaus, but I think if I had home full of hard flooring I wouldn't necessarily want to wash it all of the time with such a bulky upright washer like that. I have lived in a property before that had sealed hard floors and I found either traditional wet mop drying for SMALL areas that could be dried off quickly was far more convenient to me. The bigger areas of the home were steam mop cleaned. |

What is interesting with the lindwash is how it does on sealed concrete .. We sell them primarily for entrance ways with the salt/water/snow, but a few restaurants bought them for kitchen cleaning and two green houses use them on the sealed concrete.
It's kinda cool the product that is out there once you start looking at more commercial things. Powr-flite has a perfect heat extractor that is amazing. I'd love to get one for my self just for car detailing but its a few thousand dollars lol and I don't have a garage yet. The prima will be a good canister, it will be an awesome replacement for the Pizzazz and Moonlight and I am excited for the new wand system to go to the full-sized canisters. I just wished there were a few things different like how the tools are 'carried' on the unit and how the hose and unit connect... I'm basing my needs off of Miele's s6 and s8 though.. The Miele just feels more luxurious. There is no reason the Riccar shouldn't feel luxurious, even if it is a low to mid line canister. |

I by no means am trying to sell you on anything, just a disclaimer I guess..
Anyways, have you tried the S8 Mieles? The UniQ? I guess I like the new models better than the older models. They feel more refined. I'm in love with the S7 as well.. This is coming from a guy that bleeds tandem-air machines... I've definitely fallen for the Miele products... Except the scout... ... ............... |

You don't need a disclaimer I am not like that I think your a good guy and will buy vacuums from you :)
Miele turned me off with the Capricorn I bought my sister and I one and we both had many problems with our machines especially me who is as gentle as anyone it just didn't hold up as the older ones did . I also was turned off by my S7 Salsa it was an extremely heavy and bulky vacuum I have a small home and my KIRBYS get around easier and into more small spots then the S7 does . It also developed a smell that none of my other vacuums have I just have had bad luck with Miele . I have not tried the new canisters yet maybe one day I will I just can't get used to their short hoses and toy attachments . I'm not bashing the brand it's just how I feel about them and I LOVE German products ;) Dan |

Totally agree with you Dan, We had a S7 and it started smelling almost within a week.
I bought a S8 to see how well it worked and again stinky Miele after a few uses even with the charcoal filter. I have had so many customers who have been life long Miele Customers put off by the s5 It just didn't match up to German standards |

I bought a new Miele S7 Cat and Dog maybe a year and a half or two years ago. It's a heavy beast, expensive to maintain, has a so-so hose and tools, and is a candidate for giving me carpal tunnel. I used it every so often and then put it in storage. |

I'd definitely say the s7 is not a vacuum for everyone... I'll also say when I sell an s7 I make sure everyone knows that it has a heavier handle weight than most vacuums and I also make sure they know not to push it like a traditional upright. I make sure they know to someone glide with it and not put a lost of pressure on their wrists.
Many people come in to look at them and I'll sell them something else because they didn't realize how heavy the handle weight was. Oh, I also send vacuums home with people for the weekend to make sure they can handle it. I don't want something being returned because of a product not being explained. |

Every Miele I get in my shop has that distinctive pet smell. Do what you like it doesn't go away. We strip every vacuum that comes into my shop, put all the plastic parts in the huge parts washer. Then buff out scratches and polish and reassemble. You can do what you like with a Miele change the charcoal filter service it but after a few uses its back, that stinky wet smell.
I posted this in another thread aswell but thought I would post it here too. This customer traded in her miele's with me last week. The s5 is two years old and has fallen apart. The hose ( not seen in pic ) is completely destroyed. The Motor burnt out and the body falling apart. She said straight out, Never a Miele again, Yes her maid is heavy handed but her previous Miele lasted 10 years with the same cleaning lady, and then went on to become the garage and car vac, hence the paint all over it. Its still working. The quality has long since gone |

I have not they take the fun out of vacuuming and they just don't interest me they are basically surface cleaners . I have an inground pool and had to have one of those vacuums that drive around the pool well that was a waste of money because it drives me nuts when it drives by something I spend more time jumping in to move it around even though I know it would eventually clean the pool I just can't watch it do its job . So that would be the same if I had a robot vacuum :)
Nothing better than pushing a vacuum knowing you are getting your carpets clean . Dan |

The Panasonic web site all the machines still look the same just different colors .
I am not saying they aren't good vacuums they just aren't as exciting as a Tacony or high end DTD Vacuum . The one bagless is interesting but the Kenmore version offers more and if you catch a sale its a better value . So I do have modern Panasonic vacuums but they are labeled Kenmore :) Dan |

Panasonic's made tol vacuums. This would be in the 80's. They had an upright with push button selection controls. Low, Medium, High. They were self adjusting for carpet. Their canisters were also top of the line, with variable speeds, brush strips that could be replaced, etc. I could only afford to buy one vacuum a year at that time, and I finally sold it to my aunt, when I bought my next vacuum.
Sincerely, PR-21 |

Thank you Dan, good catch. Fred mentioned this to me late Tuesday night and I completely spaced it the next day.
I told DT that if he wanted to post again he had to do it under the second username he set up where I have stated next to his username "probationary member". I told him that message will stay until I see a complete improvement in his online behavior. But as usual he simply refuses to follow the rules. It appears he believes he's entitled to do whatever he wants. It's a complete waste of his time because we always catch him within a few day and then I delete the username and all of his posts. Please do email me if/when anyone suspects a new member is Desert Tortoise again. I will take care of that as soon as possible. It takes me all of two seconds to delete the posts and his username, so it's no big deal for me. Thanks everyone, my apologies everyone for this unnecessary interruption in this thread. |

Look what I got to play with today.... Don't mind my large rear in the video... ;-)
Lindhaus LW46 Electric... I wished that I had taken more videos before I delivered it to the customer. This unit is slick... It is easier to maneuver compared to a power-flite scrubber and it is so quiet. (Dan, I hope you don't mind my posting this stuff in your collection thread.) |

Well sorta 😛
It's my brand new from the late 90's Robot E89 light weight vacuum made in the UK it's an almost exact replica of the Hoover Junior aka Lark aka apartment size vacuum by Hoover . They also made a Burgandy one it had a headlight I wish I would have bought that one also . I purchased this at the VDTA convention that I went to in the 90's in Florida I have to find my old VDTA news papers and magazines to find the ad for these . It has a plastic beater bar brush roll and uses top fill bags this was another forgotten treasure I found in the back of my storage room . A company called sweeper city sold these . I also found many more forgotten treasures stay tuned 😉 Dan |

No one in my area has any knowledge that a new Kirby is on it's way .
I am always the very first person in South Jersey to own any new Kirby that's released . My Kirby guy knows that I always get two and the second he gets them my phone rings and he drops them off . No preorder or deposits needed here I have been buying new in box Kirbys from him since the Omega . Dan |

From around 1994, the Kenmore Proformance! I sold mine about 6 months ago. They are somewhat uncommon with the two motors. Strong suction power, only so-so carpet cleaning. The belts for these are long discontinued. I like that Regina! I'm still looking for one! What a treat to see one fully intact!

Dan please deliniate what if any meaningful difference there is between the Sharp and Panasonic. Sorry for the lousy pic, someday i will post great pics of all my now numerous Panasonics.

That is the Panasonic that I wanted but the vacuum store sold me mine for $40.00 because of the fading from being displayed in the store window . Mine is the middle of the line yours is TOL but when they were selling for around $250.00 I couldn't pass up my bargin for a brand new vacuum .
Nothing that different between Panasonic and Sharp very similar to me I love that this panasonic was made in Japan not Malaysia like the sharp . Dan |

Friend John Gregory of Sweeper Central 😁
My neighbor in Pa. Mrs. Toland bought this after she threw away her HOOVER 1060 which I picked out of her trash fixed and sold back to her . She still uses her HOOVER U4057 and will send me hers when's she decides to get a new HOOVER until then John Gregory gifted me this HOOVER as a hold over . I fell in love with this HOOVER CINVERTIBLE U4057 it had a repaired bag top but the seller didn't know what they were doing so John Gregory used his expertise and Genuine North Canton parts to fix it correctly . He had to go through a lot of hoops to get me this dream machine but if there's a will there's always a way 😜 he serviced it and it's like brand new I love my new Lime HOOVER CONVERTIBLE . 🎄🎅🎄 Dan

Short lived machine as the hard box Hoover turbo power had just been introduced too and people loved those more.

I go up the ladder and start handing boxes down to George the Maintenence man I look over in the corner and what do I see ???? Yes another HOOVER I handed it down to George and finish up I then see my client and she said oh my I asked my late husband to throw this out years ago and he obviously ignored my request so in the next breath she says well consider this another bonus and I brought it home . I can't understand why she wanted to throw it out but thank God her late husband saved it guess he knew I'd want it one day 😜 HOOVER CONVERTIBLE ELITE U4063 this machine is mint like new defiantly owned by people who respect their items . Her home was immaculate and everything looked brand new down to her toaster that was 20 years old and didn't have one crumb in it trust me I checked jokingly to her surprise but it looked unused . She said she has a slice of toast and a cup of tea every morning including this morning she just makes sure she cleans it out after every use . I sold her home quickly and the new buyers complimented her cleanliness and that was the reason they chose her home out of 24 others listed in the neighborhood . I love both HOOVERS she gifted me I had to tell my broker about the gifts because he gets part of everything but he knows me and said keep them he uses Orecks I sold him for his home . Dan |

From my Late Aunt Jo and Uncle Harry's old house .
I was left this Oreck in their will plus their house I just listed it for sale this afternoon should hit the market right after the new year 😁 I gave the Oreck to them a few years ago before they passed . They were always HOOVER people owned a Dial a Matic a Hoover portable suit case vac and a HOOVER spirt with Quadraflex agitator . Then they switched to ORECK in the early 80's they had an XL9100 my aunt Jo loved how light they were plus she could go from Oriental carpets to hardwood with one vacuum for quick clean ups . My aunt wanted the most colorful ORECK I had so I brought this the Red one plus the Yellow one and she chose this . ORECK U4090H2T XL2 2 speed with the improved nozzle plate that makes cleaning deep carpets easier with the larger front wheels . Another family members that passed keeper 😃 Dan

I'm so glad your enjoying my thread thank you , My wish for you one day you can beat me and have way more machines than I do and own all your dream vacuums . No NIB Fantoms I only like the thunder and Kenmore Destiny they were Fantoms best machines . I'm still debating buying a Sirena , although I have many water vacuums do you love your Sirena ? Dan |

Went to my late Uncle Harry and aunt Jo's and went through the attic and found this and another vacuum I had no idea they even owned .
But from the looks of them they haven't been used if at all . Found this Rainbow D but it's weird in that it has no serial number guess I will never know why either also has an odd nozzle I have never seen before . Dan |

Well it's not ...
It's a Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50 brand new even has the K40 tag on the bag not a spec of dirt in the bag or anywhere on the machine . This was vacuum number two sitting in my late Aunt Jo's and Uncle Harry's attic . Another mystery that I will never know how or why these vacuums were in their attic because they knew I was a vacuum collector and they never mentioned these vacuums as I only knew about their HOOVERS and Orecks . Looks to be purchased and set into the attic and no other attachments or parts are around I have still yet to find the manual . It's just another special surprise gift from my Aunt and Uncle . Dan |

Something much better instead 😜
My moms 1st out of two Kirby vacuums she has owned and disliked . Mint like new very well kept as all of my family members machines are Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80 in the gracious green color of the late 60's . Used sparingly only for deep cleanings she prefered her HOOVER convertible to Kirby . Dan

I absolutely LOVE the Diamond Edition with the two speed switch the low speed is a must for light weight rugs and if only the regular consumer knew how to use the switch it would still be available but we will have to wait until the redesigned Kirby arrives as the switch will be fingertip and will feature two or even multiple speeds .

I also have a liking to my G5. Colorwise, I think it's one of the prettiest models out there. I decided to pump mine up a little bit with an updated mini emtor to give it an updated look and a tad more airflow. Joe |

Beauty I did the same with all my older NIB Kirbys with the old style emptor I just replaced them and put bags back in the box .
I did that to a G5 I used to use and the airflow and pickup were greatly improved it an easy worth while upgrade . I so love to see proper restorations where the machines look brand new that's the only way to do a restoration . Dan |

I must agree with you about Royal uprights! To me, I think of them as a turbo charged 500 series Kirby, in the sense that they weigh about the same, yet they have much more suction & airflow, better brushroll with stiffeners that groom the carpet better, & a better bag system that doesn't have the Mini Emtor design that Kirby uses that can sometimes trap dirt. The only disadvantages is that converting to tools is harder to do, & you can't convert it to do other jobs like shampooing carpets like you can a Kirby. But considering a new Royal sells for 1/3 the cost of a new Kirby Avalir, & you don't have to sit thru a demonstration just to get one, I would gladly buy the Royal over the Kirby.

Dan:
Your chrome dome is very nice. But when you say there's no serial number - I'm assuming the rating plate is there but the riveted-on serial number is missing? In 1964, Rainbow brought out the 'new' plastic dolly and the jet air rug tool. The old style rug tool pushed quite hard because of the air seal to the carpet. Since your chrome dome has the new style dolly, rug tool, as well as 'ring type' suction control, your machine would definitely not have had the 'odd' rug tool originally. Is it possible they had a gold model D or an early Chrome Dome (with that nozzle) then traded it in on the newer model but kept the old rug tool? |

Nope it's a Eureka 😛
Eureka Twin power Automatic this was my Uncle Carmens and Aunt Bridget She passed away many years ago and he just a few years ago . An Italian Taylor straight off the boat and opened a very successful Taylor shop in Conshohocken Pa . When my Aunt died he was lost he had no idea how to even turn on a vacuum my Aunt did everything even cut the grass and changed the oil in the cars . He was using this one day and was drinking coffee and spilled it all over the bag and just wiped it up and put it away . When I finally got it I tried all kinds of stain removers and washed it about a dozen times it's there forever and it's how I can remember my Uncle Carmen by 😁 Dan

Well sorta it's a TTI made vacuum for Sears the Kenmore Progressive I own two of these why ? I have zero idea I guess because I can 😝
Very neat vacuum finger tip motorized brush roll height adjuster it raises and lowers nozzle at push of button . When U go from carpet to bare floors it has a sensor that shuts brush roll off when it touches a bare floor then go to carpet and brush roll works again very neat vacuum very powerful but super heavy .
