I have a stiff hose. It came with a Kirby classic from ebay. when I pulled it out i thought it might have been because it was cold so i let it warm up but it didnt help. I tried to warm it with my hands but it stayed stiff. Is there anything I can rub on it to make it soft and usable?

Preston,

A new hose will be part no. 223670S if in brown.

Currently Kirby only makes one hose for all models from the 516 to the Tradition, part no. 223666S and is painted black.

Penie, you really left yourself open on that one. My Kirby from Wally World came with a very long stiff plastic hose. It's annoying as hell to roll up but I can put the Ultimate in the middle of the room and reach ever corner top and bottom.

What's the ultimate?

Penie, It's the Kirby I bought. I think it finishes out the generation series, but have no idea. It's my first and I'm just learning Kirbyism or is it Kirbyistics, or Kirbythonics?

Tom, your Kirby would be the Ultimate G or the Ultimate G Diamond Edition.

Preston, first of all, no comment. Second of all, some people have had good luck soaking the hose in warm water to make it more supple and user friendly.

Yeth (sorry I lispth) if the water is too hot it might melt, those hoses on the first classic were always a problem for that. I always changed them with the omega hose, the plastic was different on those & the ones made further down the line.

Haha. Thanks all. Maybe a nice warm soak and some soft hands will do the trick :)
