Found it today at the Recycle store. Sorry guys no camara yet!

It has a replacement cord and cloth bag from the 70's. It also has a type C paper bag inside. I'd like to get one of those attractive black cloth bags. How rare are they to find on Ebay. Does anyone have one to sell?

Also, what colour would the original cord have been. If I can find a cloth bag, then I would want to change the colour of the cord. Should I use a convertible belt?

Should I polish it like you Kirby guys suggest, with aluminium polish and 000 steel wool?

Guy...

The bag is a very difficult part to find. You may not find a black one, but the replacements came in all sorts of colors. I am sure that a vac shop would have something suitable for you to put on the machine. The cord would have originally been black rubber covered of course. I would use a belt for an older Eureka as they are longer than a Convertible belt. It will be easier to install. Congrats on your find!

many vac shops still have black cloth bags (not oem) for the old Hoover U7037/913 style. these would fit your Hoover until you found something better.

There are getting to be fewer and fewer "old timer" vac shops where I live. I will pursue though, and of course, when I get a camera, I will post pics.
