Hello all. here is a pic of my lux 89, including the matching hose and attatchments. I found it on the local craigslist and bought it from the original family who owned it since new.

Alluring and provocative lighting, Brad. Just look at the moonlight reflecting off the shiny sexy bits.

No really, a wonderful Canadian vacuum set, as we all know. AND the much coveted pigtail powerhose!

Let's see some daylight pix. :-)

Brad, that is one beautiful machine and I love your glam shot with the darker lighting. Do you think you could post another in brighter light so we could see all the neat details? Thanks

I hope you don't mind, Brad...

Tried to save you the trouble, with a little photoshop magic!

Great machine Brad! Does anyone know what the nozzle closest to the machine (not the power nozzle) is for? A previous '89 I owned had the same nozzle but I really didn't find it useful. If I remember correctly I don't think there are any brushes on it - just an airflow slot?

Brad, I love your new vacuum. I especially love the old style floor tool. I just bought a XXX yesterday for about $8.56! It has that floor tool.

Yay for the complete set. I just love mine all the more since I got those pieces as well and actually use the machine now every few days where I didn't before. I still can't get over how hushed it is. I alternate between the 89 and the Connie on dog hair duty everywhere there's no carpeting because they're the two quietest vacs of my lot

Hi everyone:

The nozzle closest to the machine was called a Dual Purpose Floor Tool. It appeared with the last couple of years of the model 89 in place of the rug nozzle (which was still available as an option) and was billed as being good for rugs or floors. In practice it really didnt do much. It was relegated to being an optional accessory with the next model (AP100) then dropped entirely.

Just loovley! The 88 and 89 and surely among the quietest-running vacuum cleaners on the planet -- without any sacrifice in performance.

A little more light on the subject...!

Ah, that's better!

I didn't know quite where to set the contrast, since I'm not familiar with the correct colour of the machine/accessories!

Ah,yes, a wonderful machine. Again I send out a plew to my fellow collectors to the north. I would so love to buy a model 88 (the rust colored, machine. correct). If anyone sees one with most of the standard tools. Let me know. My
Aunt had a new one in the 60's and then later the power nozzle.
Would like to find one to add to my collection!

Beautiful machine, Brad. I also treasure the memories of the sound and sight of the 89 from younger days...so soft, quiet, and reassuring, and yet so powerful. I can never get enough of seeing them.
