Did Kirby always seal the fan case on all Generation models. I had a G4 that the repair guy took apart when it was brand new to put lubricant behind the fan to stop a high pitched squeal on winding down after using the attachments and at the time he did not seal the fan case afterwards. I no longer have that machine, but was wondering if sealing the fan case has always been done or started with a certain model of the Gseries?
Thanks, PR-21 Bud |

I thought that was going to be the answer. I really didn't notice a loss of suction or dirt accumulating on the outside of my G4, even though he did not reseal it. The only reason I know he didn't is he repaired it in front of me and as my only other model of Kirby I had was the Classic 1CR, I bought brand new in the early 70's and at the time, I didn't know they needed resealing if you took off the faceplate.
Sincerely, PR-21 |

When I worked for the kirby distributor in Sacramento (Roseville) We never broke open the fan cases on the G series Kirbys, we always pulled the motor out of the back of the machine so we never had to reseal the fan cases.. Dan |

Kindly explain how it would be possible to clean the fan and fan case without taking fan case apart .
The fans get ver dirty and the cases get dirt build up also , when you service the machine for resale are you just not into cleaning the machines thoroughly? I just can't see how it's possible to clean a Kirby without completely taking it apart ? Thanks Dan |
