I've just been given one of these, about 12 months old, because it's lady owner found it 'too noisy'. I have used it at the lady's home a few times, and it does, indeed, have a rather high pitched motor whine. Is this normal for this type of vac, or is it likely to be suffering after clearing up builder's debris?? As far as I can tell, it has never had a bag burst, and the secondary filter at the back of the bag chamber is clean, with only the slightet discolouration.

I'm looking to make a cloth bag to fit it, then I may let 'K9', my aging Hoover Portapower, go into retirement.

Happy to hear any and all comments

Dave T

Hi,

Yes it is normal for this cleaner to have a high pitched motor. I've got one that I had new as a birthday present, it is a good cleaner & mimics those types of cleaners that used to be on sale everywhere quite cheaply, now taken up by cheap bagless vacs.

Mm but the difference is the Daewoo RC350BK wasn't on sale "everywhere" on the high street.

If credit must be given to the longest selling bagged vacuum that's pretty cheap to buy and cheap to run due to plentiful spares, it has to be the Electrolux Powerplus cylinder vac - still on sale in 2014 but now under a Zanussi badge.

The Purepower has been going even longer. Another cheap, bagged vac

To be honest I had forgotten about the Purepower - but then it isn't a cylinder vacuum.

The Telios cylinder vac was always a favourite of mine but Hoover went and destroyed the quality with Chinese made hoses that failed to lock in IMHO.
