Hello - I'd like to remove the Companion, but can't get figure out how. Just so you know, I first used the archives and couldn't find any examples or descriptions of how to do it - so I'm counting on you guys now : )

I tried compressing the two sides of the steel clip that attaches the Companion to the black flexible handle, but it didn't come loose. I don't want to have it on my 'new' vacuum, but I don't want to damage it either. Can anyone give me a hint as to the trick to this?

Thanks very much
: )

Pull up....

on the handle as you press the two sides of the clip and lift.  Unless there is problem, it should come off.

I just checked mine. The directions read:

"Lay unit on top of cleaner, lift handle on cleaner and press down unit. To remove, lift handle, press both sides of spring and lift up.  Press tools on unit as indicated by name on top side."

Hope this helps.  I have two XXX's and love them.
