I picked up this Hoover today at a local thrift shop, it's missing a brush but other than that, it seems to be in excellent condition. I know almost nothing about these and I was hoping you all could help me out.

If you go to this site. There is a manual. They are great! I recently got one myself. I believe Hoover started making these in 1969. If it dosen't pickup water very well pull out and clean the filter bar on the bottom of the unit. All of this and more is covered in the manual.

They were known as HOOVER'S best kept secret.

They scrub, shampoo, polish, and suck up the water. They were the first. They really are the forerunner to the modern-day floormates. They are workhorses.
ENJOY !!

I wish Hoover still made the Floor-A-Matic; they are great machines
