I wonder if this vacuum can be used for cleaning up anything other than hot dogs.......??!

And at that "steal it" price, I'll take a dozen!!

I've heard the LX called many things, but not a "hot dog" vacuum before! And what's up with that price?!

Did you notice the seller is a refuse hauler/landfill operator? They probably picked it out of the trash. Might be, um, fragrant. Crazy price if, as they state, their true mission is to reduce landfill waste and recycle items that might have further use. I sincerely hope they get realistic with the price so this vac does indeed end up with someone who will restore it and care for it.

Bet it still runs good. Tough to kill those old Electroluxes.

Clearly the seller has no knowledge of vacuum cleaners. Standard terms like wand, amd nozzle were replaced with "pipe," and "head." Cordwinder becomes "spool!" And what's with the 14 day warenty?

As mentoned above, some junker rescued it from a dumpster, or landfill, and want's big bucks for it, but $135.00? if I read the price correctly. Give me a break!

Still, it could look great if the right 'collector' gets it. Basically, Elextrolux LX's and XXX's are indistructable. Replace the motor (if needed) and the 'ejector mechenism' if need be, polish it, attach a 'companion,' and presto chango, a nice 'vintage' Electrolux.

Works for me. But as I said, too rich for my wallet.

Not everyone in possession of a vacuum is an enthusiast, and nozzle and head is used interchangably here. Power nozzle, power head, etc.. I like powered floor brush for clarity, to distinguish it from a suction only floor brush, but few here use that term. And sometimes regional idiom raises it's head. I am used to saying something is expensive and that pick up truck beds are covered with a "camper shell". In the Pacific Northwest, the local idiom is that something is "spendy" and pick up truck beds are covered with a "canopy". Who's right? Depends on where you are. My west coast slang has earned me many an arched eyebrow on visits east. Back east, nice cars or vacuums aren't "bitchen" and accidents or traffic jams aren't "gnarley".

How many hot dogs do you think would fit in the bag? Do you think it would also work for Churros?

I would bet it will run, but the smell would probably be lucky to be that of hot dogs

Hi suckolux.

I love hot dogs, so the smell wouldn't bother me in the least.

Do you think it would handle polish sausage?

My Electrolux had a lot worse than hot dogs blow through the paper bag, circulate through the motor and spray the insides of the vacuum. Soft, wet organic materials they were. It was, um, fragrant. Yeah, that's the word for it. Someone was vacuuming a barn or something. Yuck! You can clean anything. If I could make my Lux smell like a Mike Diamond plumber after what blew through that vacuum you can make any vacuum smell nice.

Gentlemen (and our non-gentlemen viewers), you're doing it wrong! Position the Electrolux so that the exhaust is blowing directly up. Wait for the exhaust to become warm. Once warm, attempt to tape a hotdog onto the extension wand. You may now cook with your model LX. For best results, always cook with a fresh bag!

Knowing me, that actually might work! I've done everything from cooking soup in a perculator to cooking pizza in a toaster! Call me crazy, but I'm sure anybody who has the walls decked in vintage appliances isn't the most sane of the batch! tongue-out

Soup in a percolator? That is almost disturbing to think about!

Don't worry D.T, it was that Champbell's tomato stuff. It came out alright for being perculated! laughing
