Hi There:

Wondering if anyone can help me with some tips on how to reduce the static generated by the plastic bodied Miele S7's. I have a lot of debris collecting on the outside of the vacuum. I have a Model 7280 Jazz (light yellow). Its plastic body generates more static than a Regina HouseKeeper. And am quite upset that the outside of the vacuum cleaner is collecting more on it than I think is going into the bag. Does anyone else have this type of problem? Or does anyone have any suggestions about how to reduce the static on the plastic parts? Would three-prong ground plug adapter have any effect to reduce static build-up?

I am dealing with a skin disease, so keep different vacuums for different rooms/tasks, and none of my other current vacuum cleaners have this problem to the extent the Miele S7 Jazz does.

An upright is best suited to the areas I'm using the Miele in. I have become so frustrated that I have been considering to get a pre-owned Kirby G9 or Sentria because I think the metal head and fabric bag would not be as susceptible to static build-up. Before I do, I am curious to find out from any Kirby owners if they are indeed not affected by any, or just low amounts of static build-up? And Miele S7 owners, does the "Cat & Dog" model use plastics that are less prone to this static problem?

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Maybe attach a bare wire to the underside of the vac that is long enough to drag on the floor in order to discharge the static build up?
