Where did you find it and what did the seller nick you for it?

The vac shop I frequent has a G series that works excellent but needs polishing and loving for $135. Sometimes it's tempting.

Kirby

Congratulations on getting the Kirby.
I also have recently been bitten by the Kirby "bug". I got a Heritage II and love it. I love the sound of the motor and the hum of the brush on the carpet. So powerful and great suction! And easy to maneuver.
Has become my daily driver.

Congratulations on a great deal on a great vacuum. The Heritage II Legend is the penultimate pre G3 Kirby and as good a carpet machine as you'll ever find.

Mark, your Kirby looks nice all cleaned up, & you certainly got a great deal, certainly can't beat $40 dollars for a nice old Kirby with plenty of life in it.

Rob

$40 is a darn good for a good running vac from nearly any manufacturer. For a high end, four figures new, vac like a Kirby it's almost grand theft. Well bought. Very well bought.

I get the feeling somebody in that vacuum shop likes you, which is a good thing.

This being my first kirby,it has given me a very good first impression. I took it around the living room carpet twice (ahh the new vacuum bug :) ) and it feels as soft as when it gets scrubbed. And yes me and the guy at vacuum shop are friends, so I get some good deals from time to time.

You could order and install a new White Amodel fan for your Heritage and you will not need to worry about any large items you may pick up while vacuuming. The new Amodel fans are almost indestructable compared to the gray Lexan fan that came from the factory with your Heritage.

The fan is fairly easy to replace.

Congrats! The Heritage line is, in my opinion, as good as Kirby gets. We have 2, and a C-R. One of our Heritages was used HARD, beware of the large objects, as when we got it the WHITE fan had broken fins, and there are dents that show on the outside of the housing from what ever type of explosive it was eating.

WOW!!!  It takes A LOT of force to break the fins on the White Amodel fans!!!

I tore the kirby all the way down to polish it and put it back together to find that the safety switch wouldn't engage and let the kirby with nozzle installed, turn on. After some playing with the switch I deactivated it and it should work for the time being. If any has any tip n tricks for the safety switch they will be appreciated. Pictures of the polished kirby down below.=)
