Finally after years of wishing I had never traded for the newer Tech drive model, which I did not care for, found the same one again, day at mini spa, am pooped and tired.

You found the EXACT same Heritage II Legend you traded in, or another Heritage II Legend? I love mine, Especially with the '13 Inch nozzle! it's a silent powerhouse! laughing

Actually, its been years, but I seem to remember the ends on my brushroll different? This one adjusts with a screw like the older models, but I think my last one had different heights on its ends?? Been along time, is that possible? I loved how it looked and the disposable bag sold me long ago

Yep! I think the Heritage II Legend came out in 1986, and was replaced by the Legend II in 1989.

I know the first one I had I picked up in 95 and it still looked new, so figured wasn't that old.

Wow! I just "used" the rug renovator, perhaps correctly? Knew the rugs felt fluffier after using the Kirby yesterday, they want to lift off the floor, they are area rugs. Today saddled up and rode out the renovator, flat old looking synthetic Oriental rugs look years newer and feel a lot better! Who had any idea? DAMN

David & bracket on the Kirby handle...

Hello David.

I believe what you are referring to, is the bracket that allowed the rechargeable hand-vac, (Split Second), to be carried on the upright for quick pickups.

Cheers & hagd/n all,

Bill

Gee, didn't you just buy a very nice looking and roughly similar Royal? Two fisted vacuuming? The wild west image, vacuum in each hand. You got it baaaaad dude. Real bad.

No, got the Kirby first, was looking for years to match one I had. Found the Royal getting parts for the Kirby, long story!

a side note, the fan on this " sucker " is white plastic, original or replacement?

Darn you. I still prefer the two fisted vacuuming image, like Yosemite Sam with a Royal in one hand and a Kirby in the other. Yeee-haaa. But I wouldn't let on about any plastic fans in that crowd, dontcha know.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Heritage II Legend, it's quiet and powerful! It's been used about 10 times since new, combined with its 13' nozzle and I have a dream machine! surprisedlaughing

Too Cool! Memory moment here, or is that senior moment? finally got the tool caddy and its pieces clean, went to THE vacuum close, ie hall closet, the holes where the last one 14 years ago hung, right there! I knew it had been there ages ago.Hung the new one right back up, hose over the hanger above it.

I guess it'll sound like a QUIET electric leaf-blower, they're similar enough in design! laughing

So guys, does this sucker come in more than one size rug nozzle? mine is almost 16" and I thought my last one was smaller!

David,

Yes, all Kirbys from the Heritage I through the Legend II gave you a choice of either the standard 16" wide nozzle or the compact 13" wide nozzle. Besides that, you could also choose between the new-style disposable bag system (first introduced on the Tradition) and the old-style shake-out (reusable) bag system.

Both the 13" nozzle and shake-out bag system options were rare for the Heritage period vacuums produced from 1983-90.

Nice, its been like 15 years since I last used my old one, but it seemed smaller. I may have to keep my eyes open for the smaller unit. Thanks.

David,

Is it true you also bought a 1979 Kirby Tradition from Adam Mercer? If your last name is Watters, then I congratulate you!
