I was wondering if anyone knew how to replace the idler pulley (V-belt tensioner) on a Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled Upright. Does anyone know how to?

Absolutely,

-Remove Bottom Plate screws and plate

-Remove belts and brushroll

-remove two screws holding on nozzle cover

-you don't have to but I recommend removing the nozzle hose before you flip over (2-4 screws)

-flip machine over and remove nozzle cover

-you should now have access to the pulley, if its not broken you'll have to pry the two plastic tabs apart to release the pulley

-snap new pulley in and reassemble

**be careful, many of these plastic components are delicate and can break easily

** when testing, be sure to recline handle to engage the pulley, I cant tell you how many people don't do this step and think that the pulley still doesn't work

Hope this helps :)
