Near me in Ferndown is a firm called rainbow paints. When I resprayed the handle of my 119 I took the crevice tool to them and they scanned it with some type of machine and they got a 98% colour match.
They then gave me a can of spraypaint that was specially made. It was a bit expensive but worth it. When it comes to restoring much loved vacs no price is too much. It looks like it just came out of the factory. I am lucky the snap on cover is in practically new condition as that would be very hard to respray without ruining it as the lettering would be impossible to reproduce. Juat a few touch-ups with an artists brush to cover the very minimal marks did the trick. The paint was worth it as there are no colours on the market that will match as hoover seemed to have unique colours. If there is not a rainbow paints near you I am sure there is some kind of specialist paint shop around. These paint shops can reproduce any colour you want. Best of luck with your vac project!! |
