I am looking for a two speed GE upright handle...I have a strange looking Premier Duplex that needs this handle. This vacuum I think is from the 40's but I might be mistaken. I can not find my pic of it when we restored it and polished it up but I will keep looking. Please let me know if you have one...but as long as it is a two speed it is not going to matter what year it is from.

It's unlikely, but Jimmy Martin (rugsucker) might still have one.  I say unlikely because it's very late in his warehouse clean-out.

Mind me asking what happened to the original handle? tongue-out

Alex...

Thank you for the info, I might call Jimmy at some point. I know about the warehouse stuff. I did not have the money to go and pick up some of those vacuums, but at this point in my life I think I have enough vacuums, since I have no one that will help me rebuild the motors like I used to, I don't feel like getting anymore. The Premier came without a handle I bought it off of ebay, it was cheap, so I figured I might find another handle someday, it polished up very nicely. The 1948 GE Deluxe two speed handle will work if I can just locate a real junk one. But I did not think it would hurt to ask others on vacuumland.

I even have an original bag for it, from a previous Premier, just like this one. The is a orange or redish-orange bag, with the diamonds on it like other GE's had at this time, and it says Premier Duplex on the bag.

Well David, if all else fails, screw a toggle switch into a broom handle! tongue-out

Good luck on your journey! 'Indiana David and the quest for the vintage vacuum handle!' tongue-out
